This year marks a historic first for the Burbank International Film Festival: In its 17-year history of (BIFF)  the Q&A session has never been filmed or documented behind the scenes. UNTIL NOW! 

S.M.P. RISE saw this as an opportunity to create a new kind of learning experience.

Our apprentices are the crew capturing this milestone moment—gaining skills that prepare them to take on future professional opportunities documenting Q&As, film festivals, and other productions where behind-the-scenes content is needed.

At S.M.P. RISE, we are always seeking ways to open doors and create meaningful learning opportunities. Our learn-and-earn model ensures that while apprentices gain hands-on experience, they also receive a stipend—because education should not come at the cost of financial hardship. These experiences empower apprentices to realize that they can do this work on their own, constantly raising the bar as they enter the freelance world of production.

To make this possible, we are raising funds to cover the costs of creating this opportunity. Your support helps us continue to identify and build pathways for apprentices to grow into the skilled, paid professionals that film festivals, studios, and production companies need.
